What went into your method when you created flash cards for Economics?
"Students need to study many economic terms, diagrams and concepts that are to be applied and evaluated. The cards have been designed to be as concise as possible, while closely following the syllabus to meet those demands. Much effort has gone into the diagrams, as these play a key role in making sense of economic theory."
How do you picture students using these flash cards?
"Apart from the traditional use of the flash cards, I find that they provide a good framework for studying and make the content more manageable. My students get a better overall understanding of the theory before applying it and gain confidence despite the vast information studied."
Do you have any tips for using flash cards as a teaching aid?
"I have used some of the cards for quizzes, as open questions in class and for formative teaching. The latter helps students with self- and peer-evaluation."
